Whether your children use your iOS device or they have their own, there’s no doubt you’ll want to protect it from inevitable bumps and scratches so we have taken the time to find several products that will not only child-proof your device but also offer another level of interactivity to the digital medium that is sure to delight all kids, small and big. We haven’t personally tested all of these products but they are from reputable companies that we trust and recommend.

Big Grips Frame
Big Grips Frame™ is a big, squishy, easy to grab and comfortable to hold case for your iPad/iPad 2 made especially for kids from a cushiony foam which will help protect it from inevitable slips, drops and tumbles while in little hands. It comes in pink, blue, green and gray and even though it’s bulky, it still offers unobstructed access to all ports and controls. Meet iGuy! He’s a fun, funky, freestanding case for iPad/iPad 2 that just oozes personality. He’s lightweight and easy to hold but don’t think he’s a softy because he does a great job standing on his own two feet while snugly protecting your iPad. Made for kids but loved by everyone, iGuy comes in three bright colours – blue, green and orange – and will be a surefire hit this Christmas. This guy is made by Speck Products and retails for US$39.95.

Tired of finding baby spit all over your iPhone? Yeah, me too. Here’s a fun way to protect your iPhone from dribble and drool and it’s educational too! The sturdy Apptivity Case has bulky handles perfect for little hands to grip and also comes with busy beads and a mirror for keeping their attention. All parents of iKids know how appealing the Home button is to tiny fingers but this case solves that problem by covering it up so it can’t be pushed. Giant Pencil Touchscreen Stylus
Freezing cold outside and don’t want to take your gloves off to use your smartphone? Pull out this chunky red pencil made of electro conductive rubber and it’ll do the job just fine! When the weather is warm, keep using your Giant Pencil and your screen will be free of prints and smudges. Perfect for your favorite neat freak. Works on capacitive touchscreens like your iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Android phone. You’ll find this item at ThinkGeek for US$9.99

Disney iPod Nano Slapbands
Wear your iPod nano on your wrist with the Disney Magic Band. It uses a slap bracelet wrapped in soft touch silicone to give you a tight and comfortable fit every time. You can view pictures, listen to music or use it like a watch. Minnie is also available! It’s available at PDP for US$24.99.

MyPhones
MyPhones were designed and built from the ground up by music lovers, so they sound great at any volume level. MyPhones’ supra-aural (loosely translated that’s “outside the ear”) design sits comfortably on your kids’ ears and fits snug with soft washable ear pads. CarGo iPad Mount

SuperShell

You’ll find this at Oh My Geek for AU$19.95.

GameChanger for iPad
The GameChanger is the only game board on the market that integrates with your iPad as an interactive component to bring your device to life! Disney Cars 2 AppMates
It’s probably every little boys dream to visit Radiator Springs to meet their favourite Cars and now they can with the introduction of Disneys’ AppMates. After downloading the free Cars 2 AppMates app from iTunes, they simply place the AppMates on the iPad screen to start exploring, interacting and racing with the team! McQueen, Holley, Mater and Finn are all available on the Apple Store for US$19.95 for a pack of two.

Duo Plink for iPad
Another way for the family to connect is over Duo Plink for iPad. This trivia-style game works by placing the Plink on your iPad and placing tokens on it to answer questions. You can have up to six players and Plink does all the score-keeping for you. There are a variety of game apps available for Plink in the App Store and you’ll find the device in the Apple Store for US$29.95.

iHog
This adorable little oinker is a portable iPod/iPhone docking station with a 2.1 stereo speaker system for charging and playing your tunes wherever you like! The built-in lithium batter is good for 6-8 hours of continuous play and it also comes with a cute remote control! You’ll find the iHog at Speakal for $149.99.
