Five Little Monkey’s Collection 1 is a collection of five stories featuring the monkeys by Oceanhouse Media. The app features a read it to me, read it to myself and autoplay option. We used it on the “read it to me” mode which highlights the individual words as they are read. The universal app includes the following titles listed below.
Five Little Monkey’s Jumping on the bed which is one of my favorites in the collection. After getting ready for bed they monkey’s get into mischief and start jumping on the bed. One by one they bump their heads and Mama calls the doctor for advice. I would have loved for the doctor to have a different voice from the narrator as this is our favorite phrase throughout.
Five Little Monkey’s Wash the Car is a universal app from Oceanhouse Media is the tale of our favorite little monkey’s and a “rickety, rattletrap wreck of a car” which is constantly breaking down. Mama decides she’s ready to sell the car “cheap” while the monkey’s decide to clean up the car for sale. The monkey’s decide that they should wash the car and scrub and wash and paint until it is sparkling clean. Unfortunately, the monkey’s make a bad decision while trying to increase visibility for the sale sign and the car ends up in the swamp. The monkey’s get lucky and are able to sell the car to some crocodiles. Full review
Five Little Monkeys Bake a Birthday Cake by OceanHouse Media is a universal app featuring five little monkey’s who want to surprise Mama on her birthday with a cake since she is still sleeping. It is a cute story which involves the use of recipes and measuring as the monkeys try hard to be quiet while cooking. A few complications ensue when using the oven, and some unexpected visitors arrive. In the end, the cake is made and Mama is woken, only to find out that her birthday isn’t until the next day! Five Little Monkey’s with Nothing To Do is the tale of our favorite monkey’s who have just finished school. Mama asks them to pick up their room, scrub the bathroom, beat the dirt out of rugs, pick berries by the swamp which proves to be a messy task. When Grandma Bessie arrives despite their best intentions the house is muddy and dirty from the swamp.
Five Little Monkey’s Sitting in the Tree is about the five little monkey’s who are going to have a picnic. The monkeys decide to tease Mr Crocodile who responds by snapping at them. The monkey’s keep teasing until each one of them falls into the water after the “snap”. They hide back in the tree and reunite with Mama who scolds them not to tease a Crocodile. They enjoy their picnic supper and make a peace offering to him.
This is a beautifully illustrated collection of stories with narration, touchable pictures which name themselves and three ways to read. Parents can turn off messages by clicking the i button which turns off news in the app. They can also access the OHM site. I’d like to see this as part of a double tap so kids can’t get in accidentally.

I would love to share these with my 2 year old at bed time. I think his favorite would be the classic Five little monkies jumping on the bed.
My daughter currently has all of the 5 Little Monkies books checked out from our library. She would go bananas for this app! Not sure which one is her favorite. She loves them all.
I would share this book with Nichole while reading with her caregivers children. Nichole, more importantly, could initiate reading with the children on her iPad. Because they like working in the kitchen, I think they would like the baking a cake book best. Thanks for this opportunity! :-)
My daughter loves monkeys !!! She would love this book
Five little monkeys jumping on the bed is my daughters all time favourite book. We would share this book at night in bed. 1 physical book, 1 app book
I would share these with my boys during our reading time. I think their favorite would be Five Little Monkeys with Nothing to Do.
I would share this book with my son. We are getting ready to leave for vacation and it’s always nice to take e-books to read for bedtime! This would be a great set to take for our bedtime stories for the week! I think his favorite would be the 5 Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree.
I would share this with my speech therapy kids and we would use it to support language goals. I think their favorite will always be Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!
I like Tactus products in your video.
I love using books in therapy, and that is how I would use these. I have a feeling Jumping on the Bed would be a favorite.
I am a volunteer tutor/mentor and classroom assistant I would share this collection with ‘my’ kids! I think they would like Nothing To Do
My kinder students would love this app! I’d use it on our 2 iPads in our kinder classroom.
I’d share this with my daughter by reading them with her. She would love the baking a cake one!
We have “Ten Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed” in print and I usually “sing” the words to her, so that is how I would share the apps with her. I think Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed will probably be her favorite.
My little Monkey adores the 5 Little Monkeys Wash the Car app! He would love to have the rest of the stories. It would be wonderful to be able to read him a new story each night as a reward for getting into bed. He would be able to “read” the stories while waiting for his various therapies to start too which would help to prevent meltdowns. I know he would happily share the stories with his cousins too which would greatly improve his social skills while promoting reading in his cousins as well. They would all be learning without even knowing it – the very best way to learn!
I would love 5 little monkies book! My daughter loves reading them she has jumping on the bed memorised!
I would share this collection with my daughter and students anytime, anywhere! The imagination and creativity of these stories is something all my little monkeys would enjoy :-)
