Sanoen is a digital publishing company based in Barcelona that specializes in interactive children’s literature with an educational focus. They write stories for children and turn them into apps for iPad and eBooks for kindle. Their aim is to increase their understanding about some of the bigger issues in life, in a way that is fun and easily comprehensible. To the Farm! is an educational application designed to stimulate young children’s language development. Wonderful, original illustrations of farm animals combine together with music and real animal sounds to engage and entertain young digital natives. The text and audio is in available in 6 languages – English, Catalan, Chinese, French, German, Spanish.

This app features 5 user modes adapted to the age of the child: autoplay for children 0 – 3, word reading mode for children 1-4, easy spelling mode for children 3-4, spelling mode for children 4 and up, and sentence reading mode for children 4 years and up.   12. I would take either one, cause it’s for my daughter’s speech therapist and her new iPad. I think she may prefer the farm one though because it is easier to elicit other things from the story (i.e. what does the cow say) type questions.
