2 Tigers by 33 Loretta Kids’ Books LLC is a delightful story (narrated in English or Spanish) about the love-hate relationship between 2 tiger cub sisters, Delilah and Sophie. In this story, Delilah tells us how her big sister Sophie can do lots of things that she can’t and how much she wants to have some special talent of her own that she can show off to Sophie as well. Sometimes, the feelings of competitiveness are so strong and all-consuming that they end up in some serious cat fights. But like most siblings, the sisters are each other’s best playmate, always having fun and getting in trouble together and in times of difficulty, Sophie never hesitates to save Delilah. It is a simple yet heartwarming story.
There’s no shortage of stories for young children that revolve around the theme of sibling rivalry but they are usually shared from the perspective of the older child. What the older child doesn’t realize is that his younger sibling can feel just as slighted as he is. In this sense, 2 Tigers is different as the main character here is the younger child. It gives a voice to the younger child and this may help the older child better understand and empathize with his younger sibling. Stories like 2 Tigers are valuable in that they can provide families with the rare opportunity for starting a lighthearted conversation about how the children feel about the relationship between the siblings in the story in relation to their own.
Visually, the illustrations in this story are somewhat pale, the tigers are in full color but everything else is grey in the background focusing the readers’ attention on the characters. While the simplicity of the illustrations doesn’t impress me, they don’t seem to bother my five-year-old. He just likes his tigers and wants to growl along with them and keeps them fighting in a ball of blur.
The interactivity and animation in this app are comparatively minimal but what it offers are appropriately placed, non-distracting and easy for the young readers to play. There are 2 reading modes - ‘Read to me’ (with text highlighting in sync with the narration) and ‘Read myself’. In both modes, you can tap each word to have it read out. These features together with the use of simple and large words make 2 Tigers an ideal story for beginner readers.
Overall, this is an endearing story that all children can relate to. Written in short, simple sentences and accompanied by fun little activities on all the pages, young children will enjoy exploring and reading the story by themselves. If you’re looking for a realistic and engaging storybook that will actually get your child to start reading, you’ve found one here in 2 Tigers. And for the parents, the opportunity to help your children form strong bonds by sharing their feelings and thoughts with each other is simply priceless.

My 2 yo is getting diapers, participating in her newborn sister’s tummy time, or singing songs she knows to her.
My six year old helps my four year old put on his shoes and socks.
My older child helps the younger one with her homework.
It’s been six years since Cindy, Nichole’s oder sister died. In the year the preceded her passing, Cindy made sure Nichole knew about Heaven and jesus and told her not to be afraid when she died. Those last few days they were inseparable and because of all Cindy did to prepare Nichole, she did amazingly well for having lost her best friend.Nichole now tries to do the same for others…
my 10 year old with autism helps me if my 17 year old with autism and epilepsy has a seizure…..he will get him a pillow pet to snuggle with while he sleeps!
I can share about me and my siblings since I dont have children of my own… I am much older than my three siblings, two who are twins and nearly a decade younger than me. So when they went to college they were ill advised, so I set up their schedules and programs for them so they went to school on few days, achieved the optimal number of credits and ensured each class was towards their major… LOL
