Kawaii iPhone/iPod Touch case by TomoLtd – Review & Giveaway

I am a strong advocate for supporting work at home businesses – those that make their living while being able to spend that precious time with their family. As a previous owner of several home-based businesses myself, I know exactly what a challenge it can be which is why in 2009 I established a website and community of home-based business owners called ‘Support a WAHP‘ (Work At Home Person) which is still going strong under its new owner. By supporting a WAHP you are helping to feed their family, pay their bills and you are also giving them the opportunity to live their dream.

One such WAHP that I have had the pleasure of “meeting” is the lovely and talented Emelie Jensen, originally from Sweden but now based in the UK. Emelie is a lover of Japanese pop culture and decided to take the plunge and start an Etsy store where she could combine her passion for Kawaii with her design skills to create cute jewellery and fashion accessories for Tomo! I was lucky enough to receive two of her products for review – the sweet Nichi (the pink one) and the charming Snowy (the pale blue one). Kawaii means lovable, cute or adorable in Japanese and I can’t think of a better way to describe Emelie’s products. 

It is quite obvious how much time (and love) goes into her cases, judging by the fine stitch work and careful crafting involved. Made of a high-quality faux fur with felt features, hard plastic eyes and lined with funky patterned material, your device is kept safe inside by elastic attached to a large button on the back of the case with plenty of room at the top for your earphones. The case measures approximately 120mm (H) x 70mm (W) and also fits other smartphones or MP3 players but you’ll need to check the dimensions of your device first to ensure it’s not too big.

At Tomo Ltd (Tomo, short for Tomodachi, which means “friend” in Japanese), you’ll also find other products such as hair clips, necklaces, plushies and more all featuring a unique collection of Kawaii characters designed by Emelie herself. The cases are valued at AU$19.46ea plus postage and Tomo Ltd will ship anywhere in the world. Just remember Emelie makes the products to order so there may be a short wait.
