What we love…
Bright colors, use of apron to allow the parent or caregiver to interact with their child while using the apron
What we’d love to see…
Stronger velcro to hold the toys on as well
Openings enlarged a bit for smartphones and tablets (with some sort of way to shrink them as necessary) to enable use of iPad in a protective case
Summary
Great buy if you anticipate being on a long airline flight or a train or other activity which requires lots of sitting with a young child in your lap. I can see this being a great gift for a Mum to be!
Our Rating

Patricia Martin White created Lapiluv after she noticed that the computer screen enthralled her son, but the two were unable to play together while maintaining eye contact at the same time as making sure the toys they played with didn’t fall on the floor frequently. This dual sided wearable activity center could make a great baby shower gift for your favorite Mum or Dad to be!
I really liked the concept of this double-sided apron, which holds smartphones and toys on one side, and on the other side holds a tablet and is brightly colored. I can see this being very helpful for times when you are cooped up with your child in one position such as flying or on a train with a child in your lap. It is also nice that the apron is compatible with a variety of smartphones and devices. Being able to choose apps from your own device is another great plus as you can decide what you want to expose your child to while at the same time ensuring that is appropriate to their needs. The apron and toys fold up nicely into the enclosed bag making it easy to bring with you on the go.
The Velcro on this apron designed to hold the toys was unfortunately, not as strong as I would have liked. I found myself constantly picking up toys from that our friend’s child had dislodged. We had better luck using the rings on the apron to attach toys that were meant to be attached by rings – one suggestion I had was to make the toys that come with this apron are compatible both ways rather than just relying on the Velcro. I would also suggest that parents use this as a way to engage with their child – and perhaps Lapilove could provide a card inside the packaging to talk about the different ways to use the toys and apps that might be good for young children (like black and white) – things to practice and the like. It would also be nice if there were loops and rings on both sides of the apron, currently they are only on the smartphone side.
This apron, takes the whole idea of smart phone and tablet accessories to a different level. I really enjoyed the concept and using the apron in real life. I can see this being very helpful for times when you are cooped up with your child in one position such as flying or on a train with a child in your lap. This would also be a great baby shower gift for the tech savvy Mum-to-be in your life who needs just that special accessory for her devices.
