Build A Scare by Brett. In this cute app you get to build your own monster and then turn him into a jigsaw puzzle. You start by picking a background and a body. Then for arms, legs, noses, eyes, ears/horns, and mouths you spin a spinner to see how many parts you can add e.g. 3 noses, then you pick the noses from a selection of ten different ones. Once you have made your monster you can save him to your photo roll, make a puzzle from him (with 3 difficulty levels), make a new monster or make a jigsaw out of any picture in you photo library. Henry’s Spooky Headlamp by Campfire Apps. Aimed at children aged 2 – 6 this app is a “find a hidden object” app where you have a flashlight controlled by your fingertip and you must find a variety of objects within the app. My son loves playing with this app and it helps practice fine motor skills, search and find, matching as well as having the “spooky” component to it, but is not too scary.

Giggle Ghosts by Busy Bee Studios. Aimed at children aged 2 – 99 this app is an adorable way to practice physics while also practicing our counting skills, trajectory (ghost bounces) and having fun at the same time. This app goes from easy levels to more progressively difficult and you may find that younger children have a difficult time with the higher levels. Even as a parent, I enjoy this one!
