What we love…
the ability to clean almost anything off the case, without worrying about your iPad being damaged as well as surviving drops!
What we’d love to see…
a cover for the rear camera once it is exposed via the flap, also noticed the sound seems muffled especially when using Skype.
Summary
Great case to protect your iPad from damage, drops, crayons and marks. Came through with flying colors!

Are you looking for a child friendly case for your iPad 2 or iPad 3 which meets or exceeds US Department of Defense Standards? Griffin’s Survivor does all that and more. The Survivor features a poly carbonate frame with shock absorbing silicone and a build in screen protector to ensure your screen doesn’t get scratched, fingerprints or worst case cracked in a fall. There are hinged plugs which seal the dock connector, camera lens, headphone port, volume controls and also a bonus stand for ease of viewing your iPad on a flat surface. You can view videos and test results online at www.griffintechnology.com/armored.
This case was tested by my four year old son, who is not easy on our family iPad. He carried it around, dropped it a couple of times and even decided to draw on the screen using his crayons instead of a stylus. Luckily, the iPad turned out okay – Mom’s nerves were not quite as good. The crayon did take quite a bit of time to clean off the screen protector, but I was thankful it was only on the screen protector and not on the iPad itself. I do wish that Griffin would sell extra screen protectors in case of “accidents” which did not clean up easily. The stand is a nice bonus for watching videos, however, it would be nice if it stayed attached rather than detaching as I feared it might get lost.
In terms of improvements’, I found that the Survivor did muffle sounds compared to a previous case that I had on my iPad, and having to move the hinged cover to use the rear camera on my iPad was something I had to remember. I would love to see a clear “lens” put over it, similar to what they do in the front so the camera itself is protected when you take the port off the back to use the camera. I also had a little trouble putting it together the first time, because the instructions were on a folded piece of paper inside of the case which required me to take apart the entire case before I could even see them. Once I figured out how to put it together, it was very easy.
This is a great case if you have a child who uses your iPad and likes to carry it around like my son does. I feel confident the case will stand up to almost anything especially if my four year old has anything to do with it. Great case to protect your iPad from damage, drops, crayons and marks. Came through with flying colors!
