b-Lock Case for iPhone 4/S by Toddler Lock Designs – Review & Giveaway

If your toddler is anything like mine, you try to avoid giving them your iPhone at all costs. My toddler is not particularly rough with the device but he has a bad habit of rearranging or deleting my apps which is rather frustrating when I’ve just spent hours sorting them out (yes, I do have that many apps!). The new b-lock Case for iPhone, designed by Australian-based father-of-two and Toddler Lock Designs CEO Matthew Parry, is a surefire way to keep my toddler in the app I chose for him and to keep him away from my icons.

Priced at a very reasonable US$14.99 and available for the iPhone 4/4S, this innovative case comes in black or white and is made from high-quality polycarbonate. Its main feature is the guard over the home button which is conveniently stored on the back of the case and can be removed to slip over the home button when required, hence disabling it from little fingers. The guard is quite solid which ensures the home button cannot be pressed at all while it is in place, not even by an adult. Should you happen to lose the cover that comes with the case, you can purchase spares direct from the Toddler Lock Designs website for US$7.99 for a 3-pack.

The b-lock Case is not only a handy accessory, it’s also a relatively stylish and sturdy case and would be suitable to use as your main iPhone case, eliminating the need to switch cases whenever your child wants to use your phone. Accompanying the case is a free app titled The Toddler Lock App which allows children to flick through the pictures and videos already stored on the phone all without being able to leave the app.

My son deleted some one of a kind videos on my iPhone! :(

  2. Nicole Bilges says:

I have not had anything bad happen to my phone yet as I just got it, but I try my best to prevent something from happening by keeping my kids off of it. I love the apps available for iphones, so it is hard to not want to let them play on it :(

  3. karen hinkle says:

making calls and just messing up my volumen ect

  4. Sorry I am slow on this – How covering the home button can prevent kids delete apps? They don’t need home button to delete or move an app?

    • Amanda says:

If the child is already in the app you choose for them, covering the home button will prevent them from getting out of that app back to your home screen. The idea is to start the app first so you aren’t giving them access to your home screen. Does that make sense? The case works quite well as my 2yo was unable to close the app I opened for him.

  5. Dropping my phone onto the pavement and breaking it’s screen.

  6. Celeste says:

I dropped my phone & the screen shattered. I got it fixed though… luckily the phone still works! Just needed new glass.

  7. Christina says:

forgetting to go into settings not to allow deleting apps, and my child getting a hold of it and deleting most of them

Leaving the phone out on the deck during a thunderstorm. :)
