NEW SESAME STREET APPS FOR iOS DEVICES DEBUT IN iTUNES

Two New Apps Available This Week to Encourage Numeracy and Healthy Habits

(New York, NY December 14, 2012) Using two brand new Sesame Street apps for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, families can now call or video chat with Cookie Monster, or learn about numbers and counting along with Elmo. This week Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, announced the availability of the Cookie Calls App for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and the Elmo Loves 123s App for iPad, both available now on the App Store. Cookie Calls encourages healthy habits and daily routines such as hand-washing and eating fruits and vegetables, while Elmo Loves 123s fosters important number skills such as number identification, addition and subtraction and problem solving.

Using the Cookie Calls App, families can receive video calls and voicemail messages from Cookie Monster and even call and video chat with everyone’s favorite hungry monster. Calls and messages from Cookie encourage children to eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, remind them of healthy habits like bed time and hand-washing, and so much more! Users can choose to receive daily calls and regular messages about healthy habits, healthy eating, daily routines, or to simply laugh and sing with their furry blue friend.

Elmo loves to learn about numbers, and you can learn along with your favorite red monster! Slide, swipe, touch and trace your favorite numbers to discover fun number games in the new Elmo Loves 123s App for iPad. Count and play along with Elmo and his friend Abby Cadabby with coloring pages, puzzles, songs and video clips from Sesame Street, and so much more. As children play their favorite number games using the Elmo Loves 123s App, parents and caregivers can use the 123s tracker to see what they’ve learned.
