Satchel iPad Carrying Case by IBallz- Review

Satchel

iBallz are a fun and funky accessory for protecting your iPad from falls, you can read our review of them here. What many people don’t realize about iBallz is that they also make a whole range of cases to go with the iBallz, my favorite one is the Satchel – which is a really great iPad carrying case even if you are using a different protective case on your iPad.

In my household we have several different iPads used by different family members with different needs, so we use a range of different cases that most suit the use that particular iPad gets. My husband uses one for work, I use one for reviewing purposes and our 3 children share an iPad for studying, speech therapy and fun. Whichever case we are using, when we go out of the house with the iPad the Satchel is my “go to” case for carrying everything. I’ve been the Satchel for over a year now and still love it. It is made out of  black water -resistent neoprene. with a bright blue  which stands up very well, and protects the iPad nicely. There is a front zippered pocket where I keep all my accessories- earbuds, stylus, screen cleaning cloth and back- up battery. On the back there is another flat zippered pocket – here I keep a notebook and pen (somethings I still like to write on paper instead of on the iPad!).

If you have an iPad wearing iBallz it fits securely into the main pocket, and you can flip the font cover back (tucking it in to the back zipped compartment) so that you can fully access the iPad in it’s case. If you have an iPad in another protective case it fits in the main compartment easily with room to spare. I can tell you that this will hold 2 iPads in smaller cases in the main compartment without complaining. I have used it with iPads in the following cases: Zagg Folio Keyboard case, Gumdrop Drop Tech, Lifedge, Zoogue, The Shell byTRTL BOTas well as the iBallz and they all worked fine with the case.

The case has 2 carrying handles- an elasticated handle and a shoulder strap. The shoulder strap length can be adjusted, and it has a comfortable shoulder pad, the straps can be moved to carry it in portrait or landscape mode.

Overall, if you are looking for a tough, easy to carry bag that will hold your iPad in its case plus accessories, the satchel is a great choice. Whether you use it with iBallz or  with another case, it is a great way to take your iPad out of the house. I’ve been using mine for over a year now, and for me it’s an essential piece of equipment whenever I leave home with an iPad. I’ve treated it pretty roughly, loading it up with more than it is designed to carry, and giving it A LOT of use and it has stood up very well – highly recommended !

Available from the iBallz Website and other retailers, RRP $39.99. If you’d like to order the Satchel iBallz has generously offered a special discount to iMums fans – just enter iMums at checkout to get $10 off (shipping is free in USA).
