Summary
Awesome product at a good pricepoint! Easy to use, light to carry and now a permanent fixture in my backpack for my commute to work. I love knowing that I will never again have a dead smartphone or low battery moment (as long as I remember my charger)!
Our Rating

As a busy parent, I can’t tell you how many times I thought my iPhone or iPad was charged only to get in the car or pull it out to use it and find that the battery was showing the dreaded, 20% or even 10% low battery warning. eFreesia started in November 2012 and the source of the name came from the juxtaposition between beauty and meaning of the freesia flowers and the functionality of electronics. The bar is very simple, it is smaller in size than an iPhone and weighs in at only 4.3 oz and also functions as a flashlight in an emergency. The Bar (which was tested for the review) and the Mini are plug and play, all you need to do is charge it using the included USB cord either with a computer or provide your own wall plug for USB charging. The Mini holds up to 2200 mAh, which charges a standard smartphone one full charge. The Bar holds up to 4400 mAh, which can charge a standard smartphone one and a half full charges as well as trickle charging an iPad. It is compatible with devices that include the Apple 30 pin as well as the micro USB plug. It does require that you have the microUSB charger to charge it either via computer or wall charger which means if you forget the wrong cord, you will have to get the right one to charge it. There are blue battery light indicators which tell you how much power you have left.
The packaging for the product is very simple and clean – along with the instructions. When I opened it, it reminded me very much of opening up an Apple product as it was sleek and did not have excess. The charger is small – the bar fit in the palm of my hand and was easy to “plug and play” for usage. I have been using it for about a month now, and it is a permanent fixture in my commuting backpack for work for those dreaded low battery moments which always seem to happen when I really need my phone! I used it to charge my iPhone, my husband’s Samsung Galaxy SIII as well as our iPad.
I wish that the package had included a wall plug for the charger – I usually had to hunt to find a wall charger as my USB on my computer was not always readily available. In addition, a pouch of something to put it in along with the required micro-USB charger and USB cable for the iPhone. It currently does not charge lightening compatible devices, although I’m told that will be happening in the very near future. The charger also uses a different cord to charge itself via the microUSB rather than the Apple 30 pin charger which means if you forget it and The Bar is dead – you have to wait until you get the cord back. Having a pouch to pull all the cords in could help reduce the chance of forgetting a cord.
I have to say – this is a great product. There are very few products which I carry around in my backpack on a daily basis and I love knowing that if I get the dreaded “low battery” I can just pull out my bar and start charging it. The bar was very easy to use straight out of the box and I have been using it several times a week just to test the number of charges I could get. I love knowing that I will never again have a dead smartphone or low battery moment (as long as I remember my charger)!

My iPhone is crazy! It seems to go through phases of quick battery drain and times that the battery seems to last forever! Every few months I have to go through and disable certain notifications and other tweaks because it’s dying too soon. It’s frustrating!

My worst low battery experience was when I was geocaching in the woods with my dad. We got separated, and I lost the charge on my phone. I now have a dedicated GPS device for geocaching, but still carry my phone for safety reasons.
