What we love…
free lessons provide a good overview of what to expect from within the app as well as multi-user profiles
What we’d love to see…
fixing of the references to “junior high”, a bundle price for all the titles either at a specific grade level and a child-lock for in-app purchases
Summary
Great app to help supplement traditional middle school learning.

iTooch Middle School by EduPad is a universal app which provides a interactive and fun way to learn math and language arts for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The application contains seven titles that can be tried for free before purchasing including math, language arts, health with 40 – 60 chapters per title with lessons, examples and figures. Parents can either buy the full version via an in-app purchase or by purchasing each of the titles individually from the App Store. The apps align with US National Common Core Early Learning Standards and provide interaction which makes learning fun and was designed by middle school teachers..
The lessons that are included free within the app provide detailed clues, lessons, examples and figures. I liked the word problems for math especially and wish I had the app back when I was in middle school. The app will supplement school work without having to do printed worksheets or workbooks while providing real time reinforcement and helping parents understand what areas their kids might need to work on. I also liked the multi user profiles so that multiple children could use the app.
The app contains a few references to Junior High which should be changed since the app is meant for middle school students. I would also love to see a way to buy a “bundle” which includes all the titles for a specific grade level at a discount rather than having to purchase individual app for each one – and having one app that integrated the entire grade level which would be one purchase would be great. A progress tracker to help parents understand what areas a child needed to focus on would be very helpful as well. It would be nice to include a child lock for the in-app purchases as well as an integrated parent dashboard which could provide information about how your child was doing in specific areas. I would also like to see some social studies more formally integrated within the app as well rather than being part of language arts.
This app does include GameCenter integration as well as in-app purchases. This is a solid app which will help your child either better understand through repetition of using the app or supplement traditional schoolwork. I wish this app had been around when I was in middle school!
