A great digital alternative to the car driver toy that engages preschoolers’ imagination with realistic effects and different driving experiences.

Our Rating

Do you know of any kid that doesn’t like to be in the driver’s seat and imagine that they are drivers? Pretend driving is not only fun but it also allows kids to play out what they observe in real life and explore their imaginary world.

Playing a driver toy is great fun, kids get to hold and turn the steering wheel and the switches are good for improving fine motor skills. On the other hand, a digital version provides a different kind of play experience e.g. you can get to see different scenery and you are not driving alone. In Baby on Board, buildings and other vehicles from kids’ imagination come alive. Buildings are made of colorful blocks and there are traffic junctions, robot pedestrian, train, excavator, police car, fire truck, helicopter, ambulance and other cars to watch out for.

With Baby on Board, your child will be entertained by its many sound effects, lights and actions. He can start the engine, stop the car, steer the car, honk the horn, turn on the windscreen wipers and lights, play music and more! Get your child to stop his car on the side and explore. Touch everything to find the surprises. He will also need to ensure that there is sufficient fuel and top up when necessary. A nice option that you need to check out is that you can choose to drive in the day or in the dark! I like the night drive especially with the rain added, so strangely therapeutic.

What is very realistic in the app is the view from the rear-view mirror. You can see what vehicle is coming up from behind you and how fast they are. Kids can learn about driving safely when changing lanes or how to give way to emergency vehicles. I think this feature is brilliant as I’m constantly checking my rear-view mirror when I’m driving! I don’t think I ever saw another kid driving app that has this same unique feature. Thumbs up for this!

Baby on Board was intentionally made easy to play so that preschoolers can play it without getting stuck or confused and there is no need for any instructions. Even though my youngest has outgrown his driver toy, he enjoyed playing with this app. Bright and colorful like the real toy, it engages preschoolers’ imagination with realistic effects and different driving experiences. If you are looking for a digital version of the driver toy with well thought out details, you need to check out Baby on Board!

Note : The app is not compatible with iphone4 or older or iPad 1. iPhone 4S or iPad 2 or better is recommended.
