Summary

A very cute and colourful app full of surprises and stories to create

Our Rating

Happy Daycare Stories - Playhouse game for preschool children and toddlers, by PlayToddlersHappy Daycare Stories – Playhouse game for preschool children and toddlers is by developer Guillermo Gonzalez, creator of cute educational apps such as Animal Puzzle, Shapes Builder, Preschool kit and more.

Happy Daycare Stories is an adorable game for children 2 years and over where kids can run their own daycare! Kids can explore 7 different rooms with 5 cute characters always ready to interact and play with all the daycare toys. The aim of this app is to let children’s imagination go wild by letting them create their own daycare story, explore the daycare centre rooms with the characters and take care of their new little friends

This is another cute app that my daughter is enjoying at the moment, she loves playing with her ‘new friends’ especially serving them food, giving them a bath and putting them to bed. For some reason, she is obsessed with those three rooms at the moment! I think it’s a great way to reinforce routines in little ones’ lives and making every day tasks fun with the little characters.

iPad Screenshot 5

We love this app as there is so much to do in every room to keep the little ones busy, do some role playing and play with everything and anything in the daycare centre. It is very cute, colourful, lots of fun and has beautiful background music! Little ones can name, play with, feed, have their own band and do all sorts of fun things with their own characters. Kids can relate to this app whether they attend playgroups, daycare, playground or kindergarten. You can drag the characters around the rooms, bring them all in the same room or leave some in certain rooms.

The only thing that we would suggest changing is that sometimes the little toys or objects are hard to move around which can be tricky for little fingers.

There are no ads or in-app purchases in this app, the only extra windows are the More Apps window and the Settings window which are both Parent lock controlled.

Another cute app from developer Guillermo Gonzalez which lets kids have fun while letting their imagination run wild and in the case of this app, learning some social and role playing skills along the way and caring for some cute characters.

Summary

Amazing app for children to learn about space and the universe in a fun way and to inspire little astronauts out there!

Our Rating

With My Spacecraft – Rocket Science for Kids by urbn; pockets kids can go on knowledge trip to space! Kids can become an astronaut and learn a great deal of informative facts with this fun, colourful and interactive app made for kids 6 to 8. Urbn; pockets are the creator of other great apps like This is my Food – Nutrition for Kids, This is my Weather – Meteorology for Kids and This is my Body – Anatomy for Kids.

Kids can suit up and learn great facts about being an astronaut, rockets, shuttles, space stations, the solar system, the universe and get involved using the many interactive points through each learning section.

In the rocket section, they can experience a rocket propulsion, a lunar module taking off, put parts of rockets together or create their own countdown! I know I’ve always wanted to do that!

In the shuttle section, kids can learn about satellites, be a shuttle pilot and play with rockets. In the space station section, they can have fun finding out about how astronauts live on space stations, eat, sleep, cut their hair and deal with zero gravity. This part was one of my daughter’s favourite section by far. She loved playing with her little astronaut friend in space.

In the solar system section, children can learn about the planets, their distance to the sun, their size, how long they spin around themselves and how many years the planets take to orbit the sun. They can understand where earth and the moon fit in the solar system and learn about the sun too.

image

Last but not least, the universe section is interesting as it goes through the history of scientists, astronauts, animals in space and how old the universe it.

image

We cannot fault the app really, you can tell that the creators of this app spent a great deal of time thinking about an easy way to navigate, some great graphics and fun facts about science. The only tiny thing is that some parts of the app have a lot of text some of which isn’t narrated!

image

Overall, we love this beautifully illustrated, nicely narrated, fun and educational app! Mums and dads can learn a thing or two about space and the universe using this app. The app is very easy to use and kids can go click happy through each section all while learning a great deal about science.

What we love…

great graphics, cute characters, fun rewards and the great learning potential

What we’d love to see…

the words read out at first and then as children select them and once solved to reinforce learning

Summary

a great little app for children to learn new words in a fun and rewarding way

Our Rating

Children can learn new words in a playful and colourful way with the Words with Ibbleobble app by KidDotCo. KidDotCo are also the creators of such apps as Division / Patterns / Subtraction and Multiplication by Ibbleobble. Words with Ibbleobble is a word game which lets children, learn new words, improve their vocabulary and communication skills. Its simple format is easy for children to follow and understand and is a great app for children with autism.

Children choose a friend they want to play and learn with from a range of characters like Mr Mousey the mouse, Lola the chicken, Fin the hedgehog, Tom the frog, Nancy the sheep, Kelly the rabbit and Florence the fox. Each friend also has an info sheet to learn about them, their likes, favourite colour and favourite friend. Each character is linked to seven learning themes – Shapes & Colours, Food & Drink, At my school, On the farm, My home, Holidays & Travel and All about me.

Children can learn at their own pace or against a clock, can choose the game level of their choice – easy / medium / hard and can solve hundreds of different puzzles. When children answer correctly to a multiple choice word game of three words, the character is rewarded with their favourite treat or object which in turns makes the character happier as more games are solved and gives children an incentive to keep answering correctly.

My three year old liked the fun characters and rewards system. Although she cannot read, she understood the concept of the game. She knew what the images represented and took some guesses to the answer but even though she didn’t win all the time, she was shown the correct answer after a few guesses and as she played the same themes. I also read out the options which helped her understand the order of each word and in turn improve her visual memory of the words.

We would love it if each word was read out by the character at first and then as the child selects it to solve the multiple choice game. It would also be great if when solved the word appears and is read out too to reinforce learning.

We love this app as it has great graphics, simple concepts, it is easy for children to understand and learn from. We really like the use of cute characters, themes, rewards that children can appreciate as well as the multiple choice game. This app has no ads or third party advertisement or in-app purchases. There is however a parental area which has access to other apps from the developer as well as other options which is locked by a parental gate.

What we love…

a simple and engaging game

What we’d love to see…

more additions to the game

Summary

a great game for children to learn about the solar system and shapes

Our Rating

Monday MoonMonday Moon by Sweet Slug Software is a fun and straightforward game made for children 5 years and under. It is the developer’s first indie game and will no doubt be a favourite amongst little ones soon.

Children can enjoy exploring the solar system’s planets, moons, comets and asteroids with the help of a little spaceman and collect rocks in the form of shapes. The name of the game is Monday Moon as the game starts its exploration route on the moon on Monday and goes straight through Sunday on the sun. In order to activate a spaceship to go off and explore, little ones need to recognise shapes and press the right shape on the console.

My daughter likes this game, its graphics and the fact that it is easy for her to figure out and navigate around. Her favourite part of the game is meeting with a little alien friend and using the jetpack to jump up with the little alien on top of rocks.

We love this simple and engaging game, we would love more additions to this game in the future to keep it going for longer and also meet some more friends along the journey.

Overall, a great game for children to learn about the solar system and shapes. We would definitely recommend this game for little and big fans of space exploration.
